The Euroguidelines in Central and Eastern Europe (ECEE) Network Group was established in February 2016 in order to supervise and harmonize the standards of diagnosis and treatment of patients infected with HIV in Central and Eastern Europe and neighboring countries. The ECEE Network Group brings together key experts in the field of infectious diseases from 24 countries across the region (Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Kosovo, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Rep. of Moldova, Poland, Russian Federation, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine). Most of its members are also practitioners who are recognized in Europe both in terms of their professional achievements and their active efforts to improve the quality of healthcare in their country or region. The activities of the ECEE Network Group were endorsed by the European AIDS Clinical Society and the Medical University of Warsaw. As part of the ECEE, five scientific conferences and an educational workshop in Ukraine have already been organized. Since February 2016, data has been collected on the epidemiology, prevention, and treatment of such infectious diseases as HIV, co-infection with viral hepatitis, and, recently, COVID-19. The results of the ECEE group’s work have been presented over the last five years at international conferences as well as being published in prestigious medical journals.
