Nina Stoyanova Yancheva-Petrova, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology, and Tropical Medicine of the Medical University in Sofia, and Head of the Department for AIDS at the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases “Prof. Ivan Kirov”.
In June 2020, Dr. Yancheva became an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases. In end-November 2020, she became Chair of the Department of Infectious Diseases, Parasitology, and Tropical Medicine of the Medical University in Sofia. Since 2008, Dr. Yancheva has been working as physician at the Department of Acquired Immune Deficiency of the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Infectious and Parasitic Diseases “Prof. Ivan Kirov”, and in January 2017, she was appointed Head of the same department.
The scientific activity of Assoc. Prof. Nina Yancheva-Petrova, MD, PhD, includes over 90 publications in Bulgarian and foreign journals, participation in 7 textbooks, and over 100 participations in national and international congresses and conferences. In 2019, Dr. Nina Stoyanova Yancheva-Petrova was awarded the distinction “Physician who acts with care when treating HIV patients” by the National Patient Organization at the annual Bulgarian National Medical Awards.
