Elzbieta Matulyte, MD, PhD, is an infectious diseases specialist in Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos and an assistant professor in Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University. She completed her residency in Infectious Diseases in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Dermatovenerology of Vilnius University. In 2023 she defended her PhD, the topic – “Prevalence of Latent Tuberculosis Infection, Incidence of Active Tuberculosis Infection, Risk Factors and the Value of Diagnostic Methods in People with Human Immunodeficiency Virus in Lithuania” (scientific supervisor – prof. Raimonda Matulionyte). Her main fields of scientific interest are HIV comorbidities with tuberculosis, expansion of HIV testing and accessibility to appropriate care for HIV, standards of care for HIV in Central and Eastern European countries. She is a member of Lithuanian Infectious Diseases Society, European AIDS Clinical Society, YING and European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
